New Carrollton

New Carrollton is located in the northern neck of Prince George’s County. I-495 borders the city on the east. The Baltimore Washington Parkway is to the west. The community takes its name from Charles Carrollton, who was a delegate to the Continental Congress and a signer of the Declaration of Independence. New Carrollton was developed on land acquired in the late 1950s by Albert W. Turner with the intentions of creating a planned suburb.
